ASTROLOGY FUNDAMENTALS - PART 1

(a)  WHAT  IS  ASTROLOGY  IN  GENERAL  ?

Astrology is a spirituality or occult sciences relevant subject or science of divination that involves the forecasting or prediction of events in the life of a common person and all aspects of the life of various groups & segments on earth through the observation and interpretation of the positions & movements of heavenly bodies like the Sun, the Moon, the Planets & the Stars. Astrology believes that the cosmic energies and cosmic forces present in the universe influences the destiny of a person or the destiny of a group of people. Cosmic energies & spirituality have a strong & inevitable mutual connection that can be understood only with deep research.

Astrology is categorized under the OCCULT SCIENCES category. This subject is nothing but reading and analysis of destiny of a person or a group of people with regard to theirs past, present and future, In the western world, this practice of destiny reading and analysis is also referred to as fortune telling, forecasting future & destiny prediction. 

Astrology is also used to predict the destiny of countries, destiny of political events, forecasting or prediction on earthly disasters like earthquakes, floods, pandemics, terrorism, communal violence, wars etc.

(b)  WHAT  IS  VEDIC  ASTROLOGY ?

Vedic Astrology is the knowledge and practice of the subject or science of Astrology that evolved during the Vedic period in the Hindu civilization or ancient INDIA around 2000 B.C. approximately.

(c)  WHAT  IS  THE  VEDIC  PERIOD ?

The Vedic period is a time period approximately around 2000 B.C. during which large bodies of religious texts pertaining to HINDUISM RELIGION namely VEDAS were composed by the highly revered sages & saints who lived in and around the Hindu civilization or ancient INDIA.

The Vedas were composed in an ancient Indian language namely SANSKRIT. The Vedas can be considered as the primary scriptures of Hinduism religion (Hindu religion). 

(d)  WHO  IS  CONSIDERED  AS  THE  FOUNDER  OR  FATHER  OF  VEDIC  ASTROLOGY ?

SAGE PARASHARA is considered as the founder of Vedic Astrology. However, other Sages connected with the evolution and advancement in the subject of Vedic Astrology are Sage Bhrigu, Sage Varamihira, Sage Jaimini, Sage Garga etc.

(e)  WHAT  ARE  THE  OTHER  NAMES  WITH  WHICH VEDIC  ASTROLOGY  IS  REFERRED  TO  IN  INDIA  &  THE  HINDU  COMMUNITY ?

Jyotish Vidya  or  Jyotish Shastra.  

(f)  WHAT  ARE  THE  OTHER  POPULAR  ASTROLOGICAL  PRACTICES  IN  THE  WORLD  APART  FROM  VEDIC  ASTROLOGY ?

Babylonian Astrology, Greek Astrology, Western Astrology, Egyptian Astrology, Chinese Astrology, Buddhist Astrology  etc.. There are or there maybe other Astrological Practices in this world.

(i)  WHAT  ARE  THE  OTHER  RELATED  SUBJECTS  TO  VEDIC  ASTROLOGY  PRACTICED  IN  INDIA  ?

PALMISTRY  -  Pertains to destiny prediction, fortune telling, forecast of past, present & future of a person by reading the lines on a person's palms.

VAASTU  -   Pertains literally to the science & engineering in a traditional Indian system related to civil engineering, architecture, construction, interiors, exteriors, structural engineering, structural design etc. based on ancient texts that describe principles of design, layout, measurements, ground preparation, space arrangement, and spatial geometry. The designs aim to integrate architecture with nature, the relative functions of various parts of the civil structure, and ancient beliefs utilizing geometric patterns, symmetry and directional alignments.

NAADI  ASTROLOGY  -   Pertains to reading the palm leaves to determine the karmic information of an individual and predict their past, present and future. This Naadi Astrology practice was introduced by Sage Agastya. The Naadi Astrologer uses the birth details of the individual, such as their birth date, time, and place, to find the corresponding palm leaf in their vast collection. Once the correct palm leaf is found, the astrologer deciphers the Sanskrit text in it and interprets the information it contains. Naadi astrology is a form of ancient astrological system. It is mainly practiced primarily in the southern part of India which include southern states like Tamil Nadu, Kerela, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana & Karnataka specially.

NUMEROLOGY  -   Pertains to drawing destiny related meanings & conclusions from different numbers, number combinations, letter and symbols in a person's life.

(j)  WHAT  IS  THE  CONNECTION  BETWEEN  YOGA  &  VEDIC  ASTROLOGY  ?

YOGA is an ancient Hindu religion practice of physical and mental exercises that has a spiritual dimension & a cosmic energy dimension in addition to a scientific dimension. It is important to note that since Vedic Astrology believes that cosmic energies or cosmic forces present in the universe build & sustain every living & non-living  entity on the earth, thereby it is inevitable to associate YOGA with VEDIC ASTROLOGY.

It is important to note that since Vedic Astrology believes that cosmic energies or cosmic forces present in the universe build & sustain every living & non-living  entity on the earth, thereby it is inevitable to associate AYURVEDA with VEDIC ASTROLOGY. It is also important to note that YOGA and AYURVEDA are strongly inter-connected as both YOGA & AYURVEDA are health related subjects of science.

GEMSTONES which are found in natural soil or natural rocks are used to activate and solicit and cosmic energies present in the universe in order to induce and increase positivity in certain areas, aspects and events in a person's life or a group of people or in a given space.

TANTRAS are systematic methods or procedures of using the mind and the body to activate and solicit cosmic energies present in the universe in order to induce and increase positivity in certain areas, aspects and events in a person's life or a group of people or in a given space.

YANTRAS are simple or complex geometrical diagrams that are used to activate and solicit and cosmic energies present in the universe in order to induce and increase positivity in certain areas, aspects and events in a person's life or a group of people or in a given space.

(n)  WHAT  IS  VASHIKARAN  ?

VASHIKARAN is the mystical practice of usage of Rituals, Mantras, Tantras & Yantras in order to influence and control the thoughts, emotions and actions of an individual or a group of individuals. VASHIKARAN is also used to influence and control some events in the life of a person or in the lives of a group of people. VASHIKARAN is sometimes used for good purpose and sometimes VASHIKARAN is used for bad purposes like BLACK MAGIC.
